Residential Garbage Collection
Contracted out to Manning Disposals
Pickup is on Tuesdays: 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
The Town of Manning would like to remind residents of the garbage requirements and specifications to ensure proper pick up.
As stated in Bylaw #881 the following must be abided:
- Garbage containers should be placed at their collection point by 7:00 am on collection day and no earlier than 2 hours prior to 7:00 am.
- Garbage containers must be removed from their collection point within 24 hours of the collection time (7:00 am).
- All garbage cans must be covered. The town may direct any person to promptly provide additional garbage cans or other approved receptacles where the town considers that the number of approved receptacles or their condition is inadequate. Please ensure that the area is tidy and does not invite animals.
- Ensure that all snow is removed 1.0 metre from the garbage container.
- Plastic garbage bags are acceptable if they are put out on collection day. All garbage bags must be tied and weigh no more than fifty (50) pounds. Grocery bags ARE NOT acceptable garbage bags.
- Lawn and garden refuse will only be accepted if they are bagged appropriately.
- Garbage collectors are not responsible for collecting garbage due to construction, renovation, repair, decorating, clearing or grading of building or premise, scrap metal, parts, tires, and boxes. Residents are advised to rent a bin, or take their items to the North Star Transfer Station.
- If a garbage bag is ripped or torn prior to collection or during collection due to sub-standard bag material the householder shall collect the spilled garbage within 24 hours.
