MAYOR
Mayor Robert McLeod was raised in Peace River, AB and moved to Manning, AB 39 years ago to take a position at Paul Rowe Jr/Sr High School as the Industrial Arts teacher where he taught shop, math, science and other options courses. In 2000 he took a transfer and became principal of Dixonville School until 2003. Mayor McLeod then took a Social Studies position at Rosary School where he also started a small shop program. Mayor McLeod was very active in teacher politics where he became president of Greater Peace Local 13 and headed up the negotiating committee. He retired from the full time classroom in 2013. Mayor McLeod has been married to his spouse Cindy Alexy for 43 years and they raised five children and now are the proud grandparents of twelve grandchildren. Mayor McLeod’s motto is “Working Hard at Making a Difference.”
DEPUTY MAYOR
Deputy Mayor Keith Hutchison is a life long resident of the Manning area. He has worked in the three main industries within our community-farming, logging and mostly oilfield. Councillor Hutchison has four grown children, three of who live and work in this community and one whom lives in Grande Prairie. All of his kids have families of their own. His interests include working with his son, trapping with family and grandkids, most all outdoor activities, side x side, skidooing, camping, fishing and boating. He also likes traveling to different places around the world. His goal as a Councillor as well as a community member is to make our whole community a better place to live, work, and raise a family.
COUNCIL MEMBERS
Deputy Mayor Schamehorn was born and raised in Manning, AB! He is married to Gloria Schamehorn and they reside in Manning. Deputy Mayor Schamehorn is self-employed as he owns a small trucking company. As Deputy Mayor, he would like to continue working with the CAO and the other members of Council as they continue to maintain our beautiful little town.
