Notice of Public Hearing
Proposed Land Use Bylaw No. 936-26
Town of Manning
Pursuant to Section 692(1) of the Municipal Government Act, RSA 2000, Chapter M-26, notice is hereby given that the Council of the Town of Manning will hold a public hearing prior to the second reading of Bylaw No. 936-26, which proposes amendments to Land Use Bylaw No. 816-14.
Bylaw No. 936-26 proposes to establish a regulatory framework for non-conforming buildings and uses and provide flexibility in the rear-yard setback requirements of the Commercial Residential (CR) District.
Specifically, Bylaw No. 936-26 proposes to:
- Add definitions for non-conforming building and non-conforming use to Section 9: DEFINITIONS.
- Add regulations respecting non-conforming buildings and uses to Part 2: Division 1, GENERAL LAND USE PROVISIONS.
- Replace the rear-yard setback requirement in the Commercial Residential (CR) District under Section 64(3)(a)(v) with a setback of 9.1 metres (30 feet), or as otherwise determined by the Development Authority.
If adopted by Council, Bylaw No. 936-26 would establish additional regulations respecting non-conforming buildings and uses and allow the Development Authority to consider alternative rear-yard setbacks in the Commercial Residential (CR) District based on site-specific circumstances.

The full proposed Bylaw may be viewed at the Town Office during regular office hours or online at manning.ca. At the public hearing, Council will consider oral and written submissions for and against the proposed Bylaw.
